How did the Project start? In the last five years I wrote love letters with two persons. I became used to the joy of handwriting with ink and nib on fine paper. Through practice and experimentation my hand continuously refined. As life moves on, suddenly I found myself with no one to write love letters to. It’s a luxury to have someone to write letters to. Missing this luxury and joy of writing, listening to Gregory Porter’s “Be Good”, the decision was made to take this 5 years of writing and make this dance on paper a font. A handwritten typeface for everyone to use.
The Open-type version features 350+ glyphs including alternates and ligatures. All lowercase and most uppercase letters are connected, to create a realistic hand-writing-calligraphy on your creations. |
Wie hat das Projekt begonnen? In den vergangenen fünf Jahren habe ich mir mit zwei Personen Liebesbriefe geschrieben. Ich gewöhnte mich an den Genuss handschriftlich mit Tinte auf feines Papier zu schreiben. Durch kontinuierliches Schreiben und Experimentieren habe ich meinen Stil verfeinert. Das Leben bewegt sich weiter; auf einmal finde ich mich in einer Situation ohne eine Person an die ich einen Liebesbrief schreiben kann. Es ist ein angenehmer Luxus jemanden zu haben dem man Briefe schreiben kann. Als mir dieser Genuß am meisten fehlt höre ich Gregory Porter’s “Be Good” und entschließe diese fünf Jahre Liebesbriefeschreiben, diesen Tanz auf dem Papier aufzunehmen und damit eine Schrift zu machen. Einen Font mit dem jeder schreiben kann.
Die Schrift wurde im Juli 2012 umgesetzt und heißt Conspired Lovers. Ein Font der die Absicht einer Botschaft auf eine einzigartige Weise einfängt und übermittelt, an die die einem nah am Herzen liegen. |

Capital Love
|
Capital Love is a fresh, hand drawn Font. The alphabets vivid ductus reminds of the dynamic qualities that can be found in Keith Haring’s graffiti drawings. All shapes are drawn individually and do not oblige a geometrical system. The font just contains capital letters decorated with hearts. By pressing a lowercase button a alternative to the uppercase letter will appear. Capital Love is a part of the Light Hearted Font Collection that is inspired by a recording of Jean Baudrillard with the title, “Die Macht der Verführung” (The Power of Seduction) from 2006. Further inspiration came from the article, “The shape of the heart: I’m all yours”. The heart represents sacred and secular love: a bloodless sacrifice. by British writer Louisa Young printed in EYE magazine (#43) London, 2002. Support for international communication: The font file contains 553 glyphs. Capital Love supports Cyrillic and eastern european languages. Light Hearted Font
The text, displayed in the picture above “I don’t know what there is to say about love…”, is my translated english transcription of an introduction spoken in German by Jean Baudrillard (from: Prolog: Wieder die Liebe / Prologue: Against Love). The text continues:

Light Hearted is inspired by the above mentioned recording of Jean Baudrillard with the title Die Macht der Verführung 1 (The Power of Seduction) from 2006. The typeface used in the text is Light Hearted Capital Love. Further inspiration came from the article The shape of the heart: I’m all yours. Cute Letters – A heart on every capital letter. They are so cute.
Chained Hearts – Hearts on a string with a letter in the middle. All hearts are designed to allign automaticly to a perfect string. Lowercase letters produce a heart with outline. Uppercase letters produce a filled heart.
Prince Charming – The Prince Charming puts a heart on everything.
If you’re convinced that you love – you’ve got to go with Prince Charming.
Princess Charming – The Princess Charming puts more hearts on every letter.
